As We Wait With Baited Breath
For All This Madness To Pass
To The Beyond And Further Still
Leaving In Its Wake
A Different World For Us To Take In
To Question More Our Motives, Our Values,To Even The Score
To Never Forget What We Are Living Through For Evermore
This Terrible War Being Raged On Us And Fought Behind Closed Doors
At Home And On The Frontlines
Our Hospitals Are Not Doing Fine
Large Numbers Turning Up At Their Doors
They Are Running Out Of Staff, Space And Time For Some, For Ever More
No One Knows With This Insipid Disease Who Will Be That Unfortunate One
It’s a Game Of Chance, Some Willing To Play Russian Roulette
Its Changing All The Time
Different Strains Appearing
Different Speeds Increasing
Its Affecting Every One
In Different Ways
Headaches, Joint Pains,Flu’s, And Chills
Hacking Coughs, Loss Of Taste And Smell
Worst When It Affects Your Lungs
It Becomes A Living Hell
For Those Who Catch It
For Those Who Are Your Medical Care
It’s a Real Living Nightmare To Have To Go There
So Please,Please Take Extra Care
Do What’s Being Asked Of You
Do What You Have To Do
Don’t Let Complacency Replace Human Decency
Stay Home If You Must
We All Need Each Other
In Each Other We Must Trust
And Believe That It Is Still In Our Hands, Within Our Grasp
To Turn This Around
And Force This Deadly Virus Back To Ground
While We Wait For The Vaccines To Take Hold
We Must Stand Firm Together
Be Brave, Be Bold
